Basil’s October Garden Picks

October has a little bit of everything in the garden. The days are getting shorter, the mornings are cooler, and fall flavors are officially taking over!

This month, Basil has picked pumpkins for the garden and apples from the orchard. Pumpkins are one of autumn’s most recognizable crops, but there’s a lot more to them than jack-o’-lanterns. We’ll dig into how they grow, when they’re ready to harvest, and why those sprawling vines need so much room.
