🌱 Basil’s May Garden Picks

May is bringing warmer days, busy gardens, and two fresh picks from Basil — peas and cherries! 🫛🍒

First up are peas, a cool-season garden favorite that loves getting an early start. Whether you grow sweet garden peas, crisp snap peas, or tender snow peas, these climbing plants are happiest with something to grab onto as they reach for the sunshine. Keep them picked and they’ll keep working to produce more!

Then Basil is heading to the orchard for cherries. 🍒 Cherry trees put on quite a spring show with their beautiful blossoms, but those flowers have an important job to do before the fruit arrives. Sunshine, pollinators, proper pruning, and a little patience all help turn those spring blossoms into a summer harvest.
